Ultrasound Scanner On Your Smartphone

Canadian company Clarius Mobile Health developed a wireless ultrasound scanner on the base of smartphone on Android/iOS which serves as a screen and controls the app.

Clarius is very simple to use, it is very similar to smartphone camera, besides zoom and frequency are installed automatically.

At present the company doesn’t go into detail about its product but the developers expect the device to be used at least for nerve blocks and determination of injection site.

The company still hasn’t got any official permission from regulatory authorities in any country to use its ultrasound scanner commercially.

What concerns the device price, at the company site it is mentioned “we can’t talk about pricing yet but rest assured, you’ll be able to buy several Clarius scanners for the price of a traditional hiqh quality point-of-care ultrasound system”.
