Top Apps Worldwide as of March 2021

New apps in the global rankings include Josh, an Indian short videos app for countries where TikTok has been banned, and CapCut, a video editor by Bytedance.

In March 2021, TikTok again became the world’s most downloaded non-gaming app, with over 58 million installations. The countries with the most TikTok installs are China (11%) and the United States (10%). The full ranking of 10 non-gaming apps worldwide by downloads as of March 2021 is shown below. Estimated app downloads data has been taken from Sensor Tower Store Intelligence platform.

Last month, Facebook ranked second globally for the number of new installs among non-gaming apps, with over 56 million installations. The countries with the most Facebook installs are India (25%) and the United States (8%). Instagram, WhatsApp and FB Messenger round out the top 5 most downloaded non-gaming apps in the world.

In February 2021, Telegram ranked fifth, but last month it has moved up to ninth. New apps in the global rankings include Josh, an Indian short videos app for countries where TikTok has been banned, and CapCut, a video editor by Bytedance.
