How To Use Snapchat Geofilters To Search For Interns

When it comes to employee search, it’s no longer just about your CV and an interview. Companies are using people’s social media accounts to verify their CVs or interpersonal skills and virtual interviews are commonplace, too.

One U.S. company is going beyond that and uses Snapchat to find and hire interns. Space150 has taken full advantage of Snapchat’s new option – geofilters.

Space150 found and hired 10 interns for each of its offices in New York City, Los Angeles, Minneapolis and Burbank.

The filters will help gifted interns from certain universities follow the Space150 Snapchat channel where they will be given a test taskn. Each of them will have to create a Snapchat story for one of the company’s clients. Those clients include Sony, Disney, Nike, Amex and many more, taking into account that Snapchat has over 100 million daily active users, so work is likely to be complicated.

It’s not the first time a company has used Snapchat as a tool to search for employees, but the innovative use of filters to attract its potential hires is rather interesting. With the help of geofilters the company is reaching out to those students it knows for sure would be suitable for the jobs due to appropriate education and skills.
